More informationBackground:
Following the post-war austerity period, increasing national prosperity led to greater demand for all forms of transport. This fabric design was introduced in the early 1950’s, appearing in the new generation of underfloor-engined coaches which were rapidly replacing the old-fashioned half-cab vehicles of the pre-war era.
Our current stock of this fabric was manufactured in 2010, and is an accurate reproduction of an original sample retrieved from a Harrington-bodied 1952 Leyland Royal Tiger. It is available in sealed rolls (in the manufacturers original packaging), or by the metre for smaller projects. Samples are available on request.
N.B. This design has the pattern running across the width of the roll.
