More informationBackground:
This is a Southern Railway design, dating back to the 1930’s. It appeared in two versions, one with a pale green background (which can be seen in London & South Western Railway Coach No. 6474, at the York railway museum) and the other much darker.
The darker shade seems to have been more widely used, and this is the version which we offer. The coach seating shown on this page features an earlier version of this design, with cut pile. We offer the more widely-used loop pile version, as can be seen in the first image.
